HLB wins "Network of the Year 2022" award

HLB, the global network of independent tax advisory and accounting firms, has won the "Network of the Year 2022" award at the International Accounting Bulletin Annual Awards, which were recently held in London. The 23 German member firms also benefit from this award as part of the international organisation. "The fact that HLB was able to hold its own against strong competition from other networks at these prestigious awards is a great confirmation of the services we provide for our clients in close cooperation with our international colleagues," says Claus Niemann, Chairman of HLB in Germany. The "Network of the Year" award is presented annually to a network organisation that has demonstrated profitable growth strategies over the last twelve months and has developed particularly positively in key strategic and operational areas.

"International cooperation in particular is becoming increasingly important to us," confirms Niemann. "Our member law firms operating throughout Germany are feeling this in their daily work: when clients expand abroad, when they are active in international trade or when foreign companies set up in Germany, specific expertise in the respective national regulations is always required." This is precisely where the German network benefits from its strong international network, although the employees in the law firms also have a high level of expertise, particularly with regard to the regulations applicable in the EU.

HLB is active in 157 countries and had a record-breaking year in 2021 with a total global turnover of USD 4.08 billion, which corresponds to growth of 25 per cent compared to the previous year. Particularly striking: cross-border referrals increased by ten per cent.
