Auditing and tax consultancy network gets involved with social projects

As part of the “Community Day” on 7 June and to mark the 50th anniversary of HLB International, the German subsidiary network, HLB Deutschland, took part in numerous social projects. Employees from the head office in Düsseldorf supported the Düsseldorf Altstadt soup kitchen for a day together with volunteer helpers. Besides the daily hot lunch, they provided the visitors on this day with fresh waffles, home-made cakes and coffee.

“This social institution that is so important in our city is only met with respect everywhere. For us at HLB Deutschland there was therefore a profound need to get involved here and give something back to the people in Düsseldorf together with all the other volunteer helpers,” said the general secretary of HLB Deutschland, Malo Kröning, justifying the choice of the project for its social commitment on Community Day. Due to the thoroughly positive feedback about HLB’s involvement, the company would also like to continue its support for the soup kitchen in the years to come.

The long-established soup kitchen institution gives out up to 150 hot meals a day and offers a place of retreat with a friendly atmosphere for people in need. For almost three decades, the soup kitchen has not only satisfied the basic human need for food countless times, but has also developed into a respected voice in the Düsseldorf urban society for the interests of people in need and homeless people.

The “Community Day” is an initiative by the globally active network HLB International, based in London, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the moment and which also includes HLB Deutschland with currently 21 member companies. In firms around the world, the partners and staff spend a day getting involved in social projects where they are based. In Germany, well-known organisations such as DKMS, the soup kitchen and the “Tafel” food bank appreciate the active support of the tax consultancy and auditing firms.
