HLB network honoured for cross-border cooperation

01. März 2024

HLB, one of the leading international networks of independent tax advisory and auditing firms, was recognised by the renowned financial magazine CFI Capital Finance International as the "Best Cross-Border Collaboration for Tax Solutions Global 2023", the best international network in tax law. Malo David Kröning, General Secretary HLB network based in Düsseldorf: "This award greatly honours us as a network and our member law firms in particular. It shows that networks like HLB are very important both nationally and internationally and are the right way forward in the long term." This international network is more important than ever, especially for specialised cross-border issues, in order to be able to provide highly qualified advice to globally active clients.

The jury's statement also positively emphasised the beneficial interplay between local expertise and international capacities. Among other things, it is said that the network offers exceptional services for its clients, creates trust and rightly positions itself among the top 10 international networks in the areas of auditing and tax consultancy. "HLB supports the client companies in their growth objectives through innovative thinking and cross-firm collaboration," said the jury.

"The world is global," says Prof Dr Christian Jahndorf, an expert in international tax law at HLB and Managing Director of the IFA (International Fiscal Association) Westfalen. "At the same time, new international legislation is making business issues relating to tax and commercial law more complex, in-depth and specialised. This requires highly qualified employees and intensive dialogue." According to Jahndorf, this is hardly manageable for a single law firm. He says that high-quality and individualised client support can only be provided in close cooperation with international colleagues. "In Germany as well as internationally, the HLB network relies primarily on shared technical expertise, shared human resources and overarching concepts for employee training and further education."
